Born in Winchester, New York, Neta was the daughter of a Christian school principal and a librarian. Her father's work took them from Boston to Texas to Seattle. While in high school she wrote a story about a mountain lion and won first prize from Scholastic Magazine. The prize? A typewriter, and she hasn't stopped using it since. She met her husband, Dave, at Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland, Oregon where she was studying to be a nurse and he a chemistry teacher. They began writing together full-time in 1986. "Trailblazer Books" was their first series and was followed by "Hero Tales" and several books on racial tensions. Neta is perhaps best-known for her "Yada Yada" women's books.
